Dear Colleagues,
It is my honor and privilege to invite you to Ile-Ife on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee of the Paediatric Association of Nigeria Conference (PANCONF 2012), for its 43rd conference.
Ile-Ife, also called Ife, is located in Osun state in South west Nigeria and about 250 kilometers from Lagos, the commercial nerve center of Nigeria. According to the Yoruba people, Ile-Ife is "the place the day dawned and the world was created" and is therefore referred to as "THE SOURCE".
The town is known worldwide for its ancient bronze, stone and terracotta sculptures. The royal dynasty is over 800 years old and the present ruler is Alayeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II, who ascended the throne in 1980.
Ife houses one of the most beautiful campuses in Africa, the Obafemi Awolowo University, and the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex.
The weather is warm; the people are friendly and accommodating.
Welcome to THE SOURCE.
